The Global Trans Equity Project (GTEP) Partners with Tbuddy to Expand Peer-to-Peer Support Services for Transmasculine Veterans

Atlanta, GA – March 10, 2025 – GTEP is proud to announce its partnership with Tbuddy, a Black trans-led, peer-driven support network specifically created for transmasculine individuals. This collaboration will expand Tbuddy's services to provide 24/7, year-round peer-to-peer support for transmasculine veterans, ensuring they have access to critical mental health care and resources at no cost.

Tbuddy, which operates in 19 countries, provides accessible, affirming support through phone, text, and virtual sessions, creating safe spaces for transmasculine individuals to navigate mental health challenges, gender-affirming care, and community connection. With this partnership, Tbuddy will now offer this essential support to transmasculine veterans, who often face unique challenges not addressed by traditional mental health services.

“Transmasculine veterans face unique challenges that are often overlooked in mainstream mental health services,” said Dr. Elijah Nicholas, President & CEO of GTEP. “By partnering with Tbuddy, we are providing them with a space where they can connect with others who truly understand their experiences. This is about breaking down barriers, reducing stigma, and creating real, lasting change for our veterans.”

“At Tbuddy, we recognize that access to affirming, peer-driven support can be life-changing for transmasculine individuals,” said Dani Farrell, Executive Director & Founder of Tbuddy. “Our partnership with GTEP allows us to expand our reach and ensure that more people have access to compassionate, informed, and identity-affirming mental health resources. Together, we are strengthening the networks of care that our community deserves.”

The expanded service will ensure that transmasculine veterans have immediate access to peer-driven support—whether through a call, text, or video session—at any time, day or night. This collaboration underscores the importance of accessible, supportive mental health resources that prioritize the needs and experiences of transmasculine individuals.

GTEP and Tbuddy are committed to making a lasting impact by providing transmasculine veterans with the tools, resources, and support they need to thrive.
